Payment System — Terms of Use & Policy

Payments are processed exclusively by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant payment processor. MentraNote does not store, process, or have access to your clients' card details at any time.
2. Fund Flow
All client payments go directly to your connected Stripe account. MentraNote NEVER holds funds on your behalf. You are solely responsible for managing payouts from your Stripe account.
3. Platform Fee
MentraNote charges a platform fee (currently 1%) on each successful transaction. This fee is automatically deducted by Stripe before funds reach your account. The platform fee may be updated with 30 days' advance notice.
4. Therapist Responsibilities
- You are responsible for setting appropriate session fees.
- You are responsible for issuing refunds to clients when required.
- You must comply with all applicable laws regarding payment collection and tax reporting.
- You must maintain a valid, active Stripe Connect account to receive payments.

6. Refunds & Disputes
Refunds can be issued through the MentraNote platform, which triggers a refund via Stripe API. MentraNote is not responsible for payment disputes — these are handled directly between you and Stripe.
7. Security & Compliance
- MentraNote does NOT store card numbers, CVVs, or banking details.
- All payment data is encrypted and handled by Stripe.
- You must keep your Stripe account credentials secure.
8. Limitation of Liability
MentraNote is not liable for payment failures, Stripe service interruptions, or disputes between therapists and clients regarding payments.
9. Termination
If you disable the payment system, no new payment intents will be created. Existing transactions are not affected.
10. Consent
By enabling the Payment System, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
